Finish Line: Novel Completed

Whew! Back on July 13, 2015, I started the rewrite on my novel, Secrets Unveil This was for a 90-day challenge for a writer’s group by my favorite author, Mary B. Morrison.

I am so thrilled for that motivation, the determination to finished a novel I started several years ago. It has been challenging, especially when you have everyday life issues jumping in the way. Nevertheless, I did it and I’m proud! Yay!

I’m planning on taking a week away then go back for the editing stage before I consider sending it off to a professional editor. I really can use a second pair of eyes. Later on, I’m writing a sequel to Secrets Unveil; I fell in love with my characters and don’t want to stop telling their stories. They won’t stop “talking” anyway. LoL! You can read about them here.

When you want to do something that you have always wanted to do, do NOT let anyone persuade you not to. You are the captain of your ship. It’s your life. Preserve on.

The Space I Write Everyday

Here’s yesterday Writing101 assignment that I forgot to post.

Everyday, I pick up my phone and start typing, yes my phone. I had a tablet but the darn thing will not cut back on. In the market to purchase another or better yet a laptop. I didn’t want to make excuses why I could not write my novel or publish a post in my blog. Yeah, the struggle is real, but I’m sure there is someone who may be going through the same. So, I bought a Bluetooth keyboard and that has help some. (Sighs) Can you imagine the built-in keyboard in your phone taking up half the screen that you can’t see what you’re typing? Yikes!

Anyway, sitting on the couch, sometimes alone if I’m lucky, I will type. I will turn off the TV and insert earbuds in my ear listening to different genre of music. Music always seem to calm my soul and ease my mind. Nothing can go wrong. I always use the internet for ideas or index cards and my notebook to jog down my thoughts, ideas.

Sometimes I wish I could zapp myself everywhere in the world and just write, write, and write. I seem to be more Spiritual than anything and likes to connect with nature, the universe, and let my spirit comes one with them. I let my mind takes me far.

Then, there is the awful times, not so much with my six-year-old daughter who requires so much of my attention. She stays under me sometimes, and only when I have to get to writing and blogging, I allow her to watch all the cartoons she wants.

Alas, there is her father whom we live with. He’s mean natured, mental abuser who only cares about himself. He only gives me space sometimes to write because he wants to reap the benefits from a possible book deal or etc. At times, he would stay in my ear venting, ranting and raving about all the exes who done him wrong or any women problems. He talks about them in a negative fashion, too much for my comfort for 7 years, and it drives me nuts!

I’m planning on moving my daughter and me out of this though, because it messes up my mental processes. Sometimes I will stare at the screen, prepare to write, and bursts into tears cause I’m mental drained from the abuse.

This is all I can write for today though.

Feel free to list your ideas on what I should write for a future post. Thanks for reading. 😀

Unveiling a Secret

Unveiling a secret can be a good thing, but what if it costs you a friend, your significant other, or a family member. Can you keep a secret?

I have been busy writing a novel called; Secrets Unveil, that I’ve recently mentioned in my about page. Lately, I have rewritten and edited, trying to get it so perfect that I nearly frustrated myself. Lol.

What made me want to write this novel because one, I have an extreme passion for writing. Nothing drives me more than to pick up a pen and paper and start writing or going to my Word document and start typing. Next, the characters in my novel is a part of me and my experiences, and experiences from others who went through a great ordeal in our lifetime. Although, I will never say what character(s) made up my persona, and of others. Third, what the characters go through in my novel is something we all may go through and how we will overcome it.

Have you ever want to be with someone but couldn’t, because that person belongs to someone else? And/or you’re with someone and not truly happy? You are going through the emotions with your current, praying that one day this other person will be yours.

Or, how about, the love of your life have been brutally attack and you risk everything to avenge your beloved’s attackers? Those are the unfortunate circumstances my two main characters go through, but in the end, they fight and conquer the battles that defeat them.

When you love someone, you don’t think about the what ifs. The main thing you’re worrying about is making sure your love won’t have to suffer anymore. That’s why the male character goes out of his way to get justice on his girlfriend’s behalf in his own way.  No law enforcement. Just him and his “army”.

But, what about when it’s a secret from others, like family and friends? How long can you keep a secret before it takes over your life, and you can’t help but tell someone?

We all go through different types of problem in our lifetimes.  The thing is, you have to vanquish all iniquities.  If we don’t, we could find ourselves in a worse predicament than before. Never put the law in your hands.

***Whew! I have now completed my novel. What a satisfying accomplishment. I’m looking toward getting it look at by an editor, or perhaps a critique service. Either way, wish me luck!

Along the way to  getting it publish and beyond, I will keep you all updated.
