Let Social Media Inspire You- Quotes We Should Tell Ourselves Everyday

Repost. Re-edited.

For the Writing Everyday Inspiration assignment, I have been busy with a lot. But, it have been and still is worth it. Or that what I at least tells myself.

Today’s post wants us to write a post we see on social media. We all how social media can be at times. It’s entertaining, maddening, educational, and a bit crazy, but that what we go through scrolling through our timeline. I prefer to use social media a lot less, but Twitter I tend to frequent on a daily basis.

With all the negativity in the midst of social media, whether it’s Twitter or Facebook, what inspire you? What not only speaks to you, but speaks to your soul?

I love quotes. I even shared them on previous posts and read some of yours cause they are so inspirational; even also motivational. They talk to you instead of at you. As I searched for a quote that spoke to me, after several, this above caught my attention.

When I wake up every morning, it’s a blessing to even open my eyes. Saying affirmations gives you that confidence, that sense of positive thinking that you’re going to be alright. The past weeks and months, has been challenging, intense, turmoil, I might add; but there are times that you must take a step back and breathe. Once you have, meditate, and ask the Higher Power to bless and cloak you with His shield of protection.

What speaks to you? What motivates you? Tell me in the comments.

Speak it. Believe it. Stay inspired.

Taking One Day At A Time

Writing this has been thought of over and over whether to post it or not. I was feeling high to low and back to low again this week. After taking to a friend of mine yesterday, I had bawled. I cried and cried in the bathroom like a baby before preparing dinner for my daughter and me. Sometimes you try with all your might to stay strong and, yet you feel hopeless.

Most of you may not know this but a few years back I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. I was put on medications and even went to counseling. The counseling work wonders and I’ve been thinking about going back. The medications wasn’t too great. Either my body felt depended on them or messed me up emotionally and physically. I was either too happy for comfort or too moody. If I happened to missed a few days of taking my pills, I’ll get sick. I felt horrible. It has been almost a year since I been off the medications, yet I still take for high blood pressure.

Yesterday, waves of emptiness and sorrow swallowed me as I cried till I choked on my tears. I thought I was getting somewhere which I’m sure I was, but I have a problem with being patient. If you have worked so hard on yourself and on projects, looking for jobs, it will leave you wondering why haven’t anything surpassed yet. I am literally sick and tired of feeling like a failure and sacrificing myself cause of what? I’m not going to vent on and on, I just want to be happy and persevere onwards, while taking one day at a time.

So, I been meditating more often. I found an app called Nature Sounds. I love listening to it and it even let me mixed up the sounds. If you like the sound of rain which majority of us do, it has all types of rain sounds. Or, when you want to go to the beach like me but can’t, you can close your eyes and visualize being there; allowing your spirit to feel at peace, your mind at ease, and your body relaxed.

On YouTube, I became addicted to falling asleep while playing the meditative sounds with binaural beats in my ears while also working on my chakras. Trust me, it’s a go-to and it will help you tremendously if you allow it too.

I’m just an empathic individual who had allowed mediocre, negative people bring me back to my lowest; it’s not worth it.

I do have a challenge for you all that I’m doing too. It can be easy or hard- depends on you.

My challenge is:

  1. Let’s love on one another.
  2. Whatever may be going astray in your life, talk about it or write it down.
  3. Meditate or whatever you do to relax.
  4. Be positive. Surround yourself with positive people as well.
  5. Take a time out to do what makes you happy. We all could use a pick-me-up.
  6. Be active and proactive.
  7. Rest.

That’s it for today loves. One can only hope what the next day will bring. But, we have to take one day at a time for tomorrow isn’t promise to us.

What do you do to relax and/or how do you get through your days?

Writing Challenge (Day 12) Phrases

Phrases. Hmm… We all have said them, heard them, and lived by them. But, for today’s writing challenge, it’s the phrases that makes me laugh.O-kay.

Whenever someone tells me “dream it”, “wish it”, “you can do it “; I laugh. Not like I would if I was at a comedy show, but laugh cause it’s darn right impossible. There are times in life when we say things without looking at the entire picture. “You can do this!” Can I really? Can they really? How do one know what a person can do or not. Ha!

We all have dreams and yes, some people are able to live out their dreams. Some can’t. I would rather hear someone say, “Put your mind to whatever you want to do”, instead of, “You can have whatever you want in life.” No I can’t. That’s impossible.

These phrases blows me away sometimes. Mostly because people will say anything when they are in the moment, yet given another go and they’ll look dumbfounded when you ask them if they meant it.

“I love you”. “I will never hurt you.” Haha! I’ve had heard those words coming out of mouths of the ones that don’t really mean them. Why lie? If it’s true, show it and not just say it. Nowadays, we need more actions than words being spoken. We need to see that we are being love, care for, treated with respect, and dignified.

I laugh not to be unkind, but take what being said to heart. Like that saying goes, “I know a joke when I hear one”. I don’t say anything just to have something to say. I mean what I say and say what I mean. In which I’m getting better at everyday.

I know deep down that some people don’t mean any harm and they only want the best for you. Like, there’s a difference between constructive criticism and just plain being mean.

Take phrases serious if possible and love always. 💜

Writing Challenge (Day 5) A Place I Would Like to Live…

The Devon House
The Devon House

For Day 5 in this writing challenge, I am to write about a place I want to to live but never visit. Ahh, the  Caribbean island. The tropical atmosphere, the people, blue-green  waters, you name it.

There’s something relaxing and serene about staring off into the ocean. To me, it’s like a detoxification for the soul. People spoke on the calmness they would  feel while vacationing there. Every single one mentioned they would stay if they could.

I, myself just want to put on a bikini (with a sarong), sip something with less alcohol, and let the gentle breeze take my mind away. But not exactly, I may need it for later time. Never been a party animal, but I love to dance. They have parties that last all night into the wee hours in the mornings.

A previous post I’ve recently blogged about was dedicated to a male character of mines named Trenton Devereaux. You can read it here.

Below are pictures that piqued my interest. It is truly a beautiful place to be, to live. Oh, did I mentioned the men are unbelievable! (I fought with myself to upload pictures of them. Next time.)
