It is said that a smooth person is capable of charming others and excellent at persuading them to see their point of view. And sometimes, you won’t know what hit you until after it’s too late or you’re waking up the next morning and they’re asking you how you like your eggs. Okay, let me get my focus back.
Some people are skilled being the smooth individual that are and I have heard countless growing up that you have to watch out for them because those type of people can take advantage of you and the situation.
But, what about when it’s someone’s love for you and yours for them? Their love, your love is so smooth; it’s like a whisper in your ears that cool your skin after it has been kissed by a scorching sun.
It’s when you two are on the dance floor and your body just seems to mold together.
It’s when your souls are fusing together to become one. (For the spiritual side of things.)
Well, I won’t get too deep into because it may caused this post to stretch out too long. Though, I will say this: a love can feel so smooth that nothing seems to go wrong; however, the path that one take to reaching true love is never smooth. Or so I’ve heard. Nothing easy is suppose to be good. And though no one likes everything to work hard for, is it worth it in the end?
The song choice for today is Smooth by Rob Thomas. I first heard of this song in, ahem, 2000s in high school in music class. We had an Afro-Latin theme we had to do, and this song was one of our song choices. I had fun and wished I could have been able to really give it that oomph this song is known to get you to do. Nevertheless, this song followed me into my thirties, and I still love it.
I love the lyrics and I mostly love the sounds of the guitar being played by Carlos Santana. Oh! I am in love with the sounds coming from his guitar.
I hope you all enjoy.
LYRICS:
Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well, I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My muñequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
You’re my reason for reason
The step in my groove
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you’re so smooth
And it’s just like the ocean under the moon
Oh, it’s the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin’ that can be so smooth, yeah
Give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it
If you would leave it’d be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name calling me out
Out from the barrio
You hear my rhythm on your radio
You feel the turning of the world, so soft and slow
It’s turning you round and round
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you’re so smooth
Well, and it’s just like the ocean under the moon
Well, it’s the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin’ that can be so smooth, yeah
Give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it
Oh, it’s the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin’ that can be so smooth, yeah
Give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it
Or else forget about it
Oh, let’s don’t forget about it
Give me your heart, make it real
Let’s don’t forget about it (hey)
Let’s don’t forget about it (no oh no oh)
Let’s don’t forget about it (no no no oh)
Let’s don’t forget about it (hey no no oh)
Let’s don’t forget about it (hey hey hey)
Thank you for reading.
