UPDATED.
Hi you! Welcome to my blog, K. Phoenix. This blog is about the matters of the heart and in life. I post about relationships, spirituality, sex, with sprinkles of inspiration thrown in.
I talk about relationships because those are the things that are important in our daily lives that we have to work through. It doesn’t matter if it is with ourselves, partners, family members, and/or friends; we must have a healthy and wonderful relationship(s) regardless. If something isn’t working out and someone doesn’t have your best interest at heart, don’t stay. Love and value yourself because you are something special and you are worthy.
I believe in inspiration at times, because I care about people and what happens to them. It’s something about inspiring people and in turn, they inspire you. Spirituality is mentioned more often now than when I first began going in depths about it on my blog. As you take a look around here, do check out the
Spirituality category/tag and tell me what you think (or not.)
“More smiling, less worrying. More compassion, less judgment. More blessed, less stressed. More love, less hate.”
― The Light in the Heart
Love is spoken about a lot because it is a beautiful and endearing emotion; yet, the strongest emotion known to man. It’s something that should be cherished and not taken for granted. I’ve haven’t truly been in love, but have seen it in others. The love a person should give is the love to oneself, first and foremost. When you practice self-love, you will have a true understanding of who you really are, and what you are all about. And what you will and won’t tolerate. Your own cup as to be filled before you can even offer it to another.
When you love yourself, (something I had started practicing doing for the first time last year) it’s a feeling of self-worth to me. Someone once mentioned that it doesn’t matter how long you take time out for yourself, as long as you do so. This article I read gives an idea of how you can put self-love into action. You can read it by going here.
One of the main reasons I started giving myself the love I should have given myself was the fact that I had gotten tired of being put down and being shown hatred by people who I thought had my best interest at heart. They made me feel unloved, unwanted, crazy, and stupid. And yes, they were family, and it stemmed off into other people who treated me with such ugliness, I at one time thought I deserved it. More on that in another post. Stay tuned.
Now, I had distanced myself from such people and forgiven them, slooowly; however, I’m getting better. I owed myself a lot.
A little about me, I am a writer and a blogger and have been for several years. My love for writing began when I was a little girl in second grade who couldn’t find anything to pass the time. Writing is a passion that I live, breathe, and sweat. Yes, I said sweat! When I’m not writing short stories I’m writing poetry. It’s something so passionate about expressing yourself through words of poetry, especially when you are doing so from the depths of your heart and expanding throughout your soul…
When I’m not interacting with my eleven-year-old daughter, Shelley, I’m either reading a book, writing, or enjoying nature. Or, most likely listening to music through my earbuds that help to de-stress my spirit.
I have written a book called, Secrets Unveil that is now finished. I’m not sure if I want to self-published or go with an agent, or publisher. I also had started writing the sequel, Secrets to Live By. I love a good book- ahem! correction, books, with and without a glass of wine.
You also can find out a lot about who I am and what matters most to me by my blog posts. 😊
You can email me and/or connect with me through Facebook and Twitter. Let’s keep the love going! ❤️

After 33 years of marriage, I know love is not something you find; it is something you choose to do. I’m sure your 6-year-old is not loveable 100% of the time, but you choose to love her. Thanks for liking my post, “What I Do When I Am Not Writing.”

Wow, I don’t know anyone personally who been together that long. That’s amazing! I always like hearing about how others kept theirs going. I guess I been with others who chose not to…

It’s sad. It takes two to get married, but only one to divorce.

You can link back to my site in telling about the award, but pick other blogs to nominate yourself, and pay it forward. That way more blogs get recognized and shared with each other. Thank you for the thought! You can see what I did on my award page… 🙂
