#MusicMonday- Take A Bow

There are people out here that will put on a show for others. Whether they are doing so professionally, this isn’t the point.

What I’m getting at is the ones like a family member, friend, or significant other that’ll “pretend” with you to put on a show to anyone else who’s paying attention. They need an audience to play a role or two for them because that’s who they are. And that’s how they operate.

Have you ever been with someone who was one way with you, but when you two are around others they are a completely different person? Same here.

Those people play many roles and some even wear masks. It’s draining and can get confusing. They are pretenders and the majority of them are narcissists. You have to protect yourself, or better yet, remove them out of your life completely. It’s toxic.

I have dealt with people while in relationships where they treated me like crap behind closed doors, and then when we are around people, they act like they love me so much. I have learned so much over the years, and I have learned there are so many different types of roles people will play in your life.

You have to tell these people to take a bow because their show is over. You’re over with them because you want better for yourself.

Which is why I’ve chosen Take A Bow by Madonna. I love the lyrics to this song and I love her as one of my favorite artists since I was a kid. The music video is one I love as much, especially since seeing Emilio Muñoz. And I love the background vocals from Babyface. The lyrics written by Madonna and Babyface are so well-written and it made me think even before I was a teenager why people do what they do to others that aren’t right.

I hope one day that the people whom I had described would change in better people and help spread positivity into the world. Though, that is wishful thinking, and people only change when they want to.

Soulmate And Love Quotes:

LYRICS:

[Verse 1:]
Take a bow, the night is over
This masquerade is getting older
Lights are low, the curtains down
There’s no one here
There’s no one here, there’s no one in the crowd
Say your lines, but do you feel them?
Do you mean what you say when there’s no one around?
No one around
Watching you, watching me, one lonely star
One lonely star, you don’t know who you are

[Chorus:]
I’ve always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you’ve always known it’s true
You know it’s true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say good-bye
Say good-bye
Bye-bye
Say good-bye

[Verse 2:]
Make them laugh, it comes so easy
When you get to the part
Where you’re breaking my heart
Breaking my heart
Hide behind your smile, all the world loves a clown
Just make them smile the whole world loves a clown
Wish you well, I cannot stay
You deserve an award for the role that you played
Role that you played
No more masquerade, you’re one lonely star
One lonely star and you don’t know who you are

[Chorus:]
I’ve always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you’ve always known it’s true
You know it’s true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say good-bye
Say good-bye
I’ve always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you’ve always known it’s true
You know it’s true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say good-bye
Say good-bye
Bye-bye
Say good-bye

[Bridge:]
All the world is a stage
World is a stage
And everyone has their part
Has their part
But how was I to know which way the story’d go?
How was I to know you’d break
You’d break, you’d break, you’d break
You’d break my heart?

[Chorus:]
I’ve always been in love with you
I’ve always been in love with you
I guess you’ve always known
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say good-bye
I’ve always been in love with you
Always with you
I guess you’ve always known it’s true
You know it’s true
You took my love for granted, why, oh, why?
The show is over, say good-bye
Say good-bye
Bye-bye
Say good-bye

[Outro:]
Say good-bye

  1. Excellent choice, Pamela! I’ve always loved this song and it’s still on my playlists.

Totally agree with you. Not everyone deserves a place in your life. If they won’t walk away, then you should.

    Been there, done that! 😉
