#MusicMonday: Find Your Love

Finding love isn’t necessarily something a person can just do. It finds you when the Universe feels like it is time for love to do so. Still, I chose today’s song because 10 years ago when it came out, it caught my attention and held it. I fell in love with the beat and the message.

I remembered back in the day when my great-aunt would tell us teenagers that men would court the girls/women they wanted to date back when she was growing up. Not straight off the bat initiated sex. As I have gotten older, I don’t even believe I was even courted (or wooed). I kid you not.

I have learned that there are guys who would do all of that (courted and such), and still treat women like crap. Marry them, get them pregnant, and probably have another family across town somewhere. There’s a list of things I want to say, but this isn’t the post for it.

Love isn’t something to toy with. So, when I had watched the video to this song, Find Your Love, I had loved that it had shown how serious love can be. And how a person can be so adamant to go after what and who they want, especially when there are true feelings involved and love.

I purposely didn’t upload the official video here because of what is shown in the video. The video doesn’t bother me to watch, though anyone who wants to can see it for themselves. The video is the prime example of how a person who felt like they found their love just to get themselves caught up. The guy fell in love with the girl, they have been meeting up, and had sex. Then it turned out the girl already had a boyfriend and the boyfriend set out with his crew to do harm to this guy.

It goes to show when you believe you have found “your love,” it may not be the right time or the right person. And giving more of yourself to the wrong person (or someone who isn’t sure about who they want) because you feel like it will keep you two together isn’t a good thing. You would only end up hurting yourself more.

Though true love just may still be out there for you, you must believe in it. But, bring the focus to yourself and practice self-love.

LYRICS:

[Verse 1]
I’m more than just an option (Hey, hey, hey)
Refuse to be forgotten (Hey, hey, hey)
I took a chance with my heart (Hey, hey, hey)
And I feel it taking over

[Chorus]
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I bet if I give all my love then nothing’s gonna tear us apart

[Verse 2]
I’m more than just a number (Hey, hey, hey)
I doubt you’ll find another (Hey, hey, hey)
So every single summer (Hey, hey, hey)
I’ll be the one that you’ll remember and—

[Chorus]
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I bet if I give all my love then nothing’s gonna tear us apart

[Verse 3]
It’s more than just a mission (Hey, hey, hey)
You hear, but you don’t listen (Hey, hey, hey)
You better pay attention (Hey, hey, hey)
And get what you’ve been missing

[Chorus]
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I bet if I give all my love then nothing’s gonna tear us apart

[Bridge]
Too many times I’ve been wrong
I guess being right takes too long
I’m done waiting, there’s nothing left to do
But give all I have to you and

[Chorus]
I better find your loving, I better find your heart
I better find your loving
I bet if I give all my love then nothing’s gonna tear us apart
I bet if I give all my love then nothing’s gonna tear us apart
