SongLyricSunday: A-Ha- Take On Me #SundayBlogs #music

Hi, everyone! I am back with another song this Sunday. Today’s theme is “take/taking” from Helen Vahdati’s blog. Today, I was going to go with a more romantic-type slow song.

Today’s song is one of my favorite song from the punk-rock era. I was born in the early 80s, and love all genres from that time.

This song always gets me up and dancing. And the video is, well, I’ve never seen anything like it. 😃 I hope you all like it.

We’re talking away
I don’t know what
I’m to say I’ll say it anyway
Today’s another day to find you
Shying away
I’ll be coming for your love, okay?

Take on me, (take on me)
Take me on, (take on me)
I’ll be gone
In a day or two

So needless to say
I’m odds and ends
I’ll be stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is OK
Say after me
It’s no better to be safe than sorry

Take on me, (take on me)
Take me on, (take on me)
I’ll be gone
In a day or two

Oh the things that you say
Is it live or
Just to play my worries away
You’re all the things I’ve got to remember
You’re shying away
I’ll be coming for you anyway

Take on me, (take on me)
Take me on, (take on me)
I’ll be gone
In a day

(Take on me, take on me)
(Take me on, take on me)
I’ll be gone (take on me)
In a day

  1. I am so glad you chose this song. Ever since I posted the first song that came into my head when I saw the theme take/taking – this is the song that has been going round my head.
Along with UB40 “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”….”Take my hand…take my whole life too”

  2. Yay! When I first read the theme, I was like: “Take On Me, Take A Little Piece of My Heart and Take Me to Church are going to be on repeat all over the blogosphere today” – I was so surprised that wasn’t the case, but glad to see someone remembered this 80’s classic! 😀
