I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday or going to enjoy it, depending on where you are in the world. Today’s theme is “phone calls/calling” by Helen Vahdati.
Have you ever wanted to make a call to someone but can’t reach them? A dear friend, or in most cases, a love you lost contact with? There are so much distance between the two of you. And you want to be able to reach them to apologize for whatever reason it may be, but you there may be a connection lost of the lines.
It can be a devastating thing, but you don’t give up.
P.S. I have taken the liberty of uploading the shorter version which isn’t a video, only an audio because it goes straight into playing the song. 😉
Lyrics:
Hello it’s me
I’ve been wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet
To go over everything
They say that time’s supposed to heal ya
But I ain’t done much healing
Hello, can you hear me?
I’m in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free I’ve forgotten how it felt
Before the world fell at our feet There’s such a difference between us
And a million miles
Hello from the other side
I must have called a thousand times To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I’ve tried
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart
Anymore
Hello, how are you?
It’s so typical of me to talk about myself, I’m sorry
I hope that you’re well
Did you ever make it out of that town
Where nothing ever happened?
It’s no secret that the both of us
Are running out of time
Hello from the other side
I must have called a thousand times To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I’ve tried
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart
Anymore
(Highs, highs, highs, highs, lows, lows, lows, lows)
Anymore
(Highs, highs, highs, highs, lows, lows, lows, lows)
Anymore
(Highs, highs, highs, highs, lows, lows, lows, lows)
Anymore
(Highs, highs, highs, highs, lows, lows, lows, lows)
Anymore
Hello from the other side
I must have called a thousand times To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done
But when I call you never seem to be home
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I’ve tried
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart
Anymore

It’s all the stuff you want to say to someone, to be able to call them up and speak freely. Not so easy as this, but that’s what this song is there for.

That’s true.

In my opinion, you can never go wrong with Adele. She is simply fantastic – her voice and the lyrics. Yes, making the call is one of the hardest things to do.

I remember the first time I heard this song while randomly clicking through Adele’s videos on YouTube, and fell in love with it instantly. So beautiful, as most of her songs are. Great pick!
