Getting up early is not my thing at all, yet I do it anyway. For one, I have an internal alarm clock that wakes me up at 4:45. I don’t know why, but I used that time to search the internet, read blogs, etc. Then I’ll fall asleep just to get back up at 5:45 to get my daughter ready for school. Alone time when everyone is gone is like a miracle to me. I get to work on myself and my life without disturbances and distractions.
As I think about life, I constantly worry about my future in an almost addictive way. When I noticed it was getting out of hand, I took many steps back so I can see the bigger “picture.” When you are too close to something, it’s difficult to see it for what it’s really is.
So, lately, I’ve been working on my health. As some of you may already know, my physical health was failing over the years. Being stress and going through depression made it even worse. With that, I had mental health problems.
What have I done to work on improving my health? Physically, I changed my eating habits. It’s no secret that I love to eat. I can’t seem to lose fifteen or twenty pounds. However, instead of worrying about the pounds, I’m taking in:
- more fiber
- more fruits and veggies
- Exercise (l tend to only do walking, dancing, and yoga the most.)
- Fewer carbs, sugar, and salt.
For my mental health, I’m :
- Doing Reiki healing
- Listening to music more. (It helps and acts as therapy.)
I won’t put the blame on the people who are supposed to be your family and mistreats you, but I know now that some are meant to continue on in your life. Majority of them do more harm than good and hate seeing you do well.
One thing I know, I have you guys. You know the good, the bad, and the ugly and do so without judgment. I haven’t been completely open like I would like to sometimes, and that’s because I’m still working on not worrying about what others think of me, or dictate my life.
A lot of things I pondered on when I get up early or not, and I waste time. That’s something else I’m working on improving is to not waste precious time worrying about things; it nearly takes up my entire day.
You are the captain of your life and you should steer it with the help of God in whatever direction you want.
