Rise Like A Phoenix

Today’s prompt is to choose a mythical creature to write a post about. Well, since my blog is called, K. Phoenix, and relates to it, why not post about the mythical creature, the phoenix.

What is a phoenix? A phoenix is long-lived bird in Greek mythology that is known to cyclically regenerated or reborn. A phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor.

This powerful bird lives for hundreds of years before bursting into flames. It then arises from the ashes to start a new, long life.

I like to look at life, past and present, and know that you can rise like a phoenix from the former you; or, from your situation (s), perhaps. Know that you can overcome anything that kept you bound. There’s power and strength inside you.

Symbolic meanings of a Phoenix:

  • Power
  • Strength
  • Renewal
  • Rebirth
  • Clarity
  • Longevity

  1. Although I’ve heard about the Phoenix, it’s interesting because I just read another blog that described Sankofa, which is also has a bird image. The bird is looking back, examining itself so it can move forward. Just funny that I should read about these two things within two days of each other. Thanks Pam!
